چکیده

The reconstructed route E39 along the west coast of Norway will provide efficient local and regional transportation for people goods. Efficient implies safety measures exist, e.g., driving speed limits adverse weather condition. This is especially important structures in open areas, such as long-span bridges. paper investigates path tracking ability lateral stability two vehicle types – a tractor-semitrailer (TS) sport utility (SUV) on Bjørnafjorden floating bridge considering 1-year storm At 108 km/h, TS experiences roll-over risk, at 90 it frequently leaves traffic lane. highest speed, SUV wheels do not lose contact with deck, but does leave that driver requires more handling effort over than an driver. Results suggest can safely enter low (36 km/h) then accelerate to 72 km/h after travelling 2 km. An entering accelerating 0.5 km was found be safe.
